How to boost the profit of your dog salon

Highly concentrated products cost more per litre than ready-to-use brands. Why wouldn't I just buy the cheaper diluted stuff?

Because you're paying for water weight and shipping, not active ingredients.

The simple math:
Assuming you get 500 grooms per year and you use 20ml of 50:1 best selling shampoo per dog (average medium coat).

That is only 10 litres or just 2 canisters of our concentrated shampoo per year.

2 canisters × €60 = €120/year.

Ready-to-use shampoo:
500 grooms per year while using 50ml of undiluted shampoo = 250l of shampoo
500 undiluted 500ml bottles × €5 = €2500 annually

How do I choose which grooming products to have in my salon

Stock only what you use on 80% of dogs—shampoos, conditioners, and cosmetics that reduce your groom time by at least 15% per dog. e.g. conditioners make brushing easier. If a product saves 10 minutes per dog and you groom 6 dogs/day, that's 1 extra slot per day.

Should I offer add-on services like teeth brushing or de-shedding treatments?

But you should be smart and strategic about it! Offer services if you can perform them in under 5 extra minutes without moving the dog. De-shedding packages that require a separate 20-minute session cannibalise your main grooming slots.
